The Chinese group Geely, owner of Volvo and Smart, begins its direct journey in Spain. After operating through other brands, it will now establish its own network of dealerships. The launch will be with two vehicles: the electric SUV Geely E5 and the plug-in hybrid Starray EM-i. This move consolidates the presence of Chinese manufacturers in the Spanish market.
Specifications and Platforms of the First Models ⚙️
The Geely E5 is a 100% electric SUV that announces a WLTP range of up to 475 km. The Starray EM-i is a plug-in hybrid that combines a thermal engine with electric propulsion, achieving a declared total range of 943 km. Both models are based on Geely's own modular architectures, which prioritize energy efficiency and the integration of connectivity systems.
Now Do We Have to Learn Another Brand Name? 🤔
Just when we had gotten used to pronouncing all the names of the new electric brands, Geely arrives to expand the list. It seems the plan is that, instead of discussing soccer at work, we dedicate the coffee break to correctly spelling Starray EM-i. At least, with that hybrid range, we'll have plenty of kilometers to practice its pronunciation during a trip.
