The Greek studio Da House has completed the visual effects work for the project Kakes Idees. Their approach focused on enhancing practical action sequences, adding layers of motion and visual impact that maintain the authenticity of the scenes. The work reinforces the narrative, with achievements such as the integration of an animated chameleon into real environments and an extensive chase that ends with a paragliding escape.
Creature Integration and Action Choreography with VFX 🦎
For the chameleon, the team developed a detailed 3D model and animation that replicated the real animal's movement and texture, integrating the lighting and shadows into the filmed shot. In the chase sequence, the artists expanded the environment and added destruction elements and dust to intensify the speed. The climax with the paraglider required compositing the actor with real background plates and simulating the fabric for a fluid result.
When Your Car Escape Needs a Flight Plan ✈️
It's the typical plan: you steal a vehicle, embark on a high-speed chase, and when the situation gets complicated, you simply deploy a paraglider you had in the trunk and fly away. A script that demands impeccable action choreography and, of course, a VFX team to ensure your improvised jump doesn't end on the nearest rooftop. Because in cinema, luck always comes with a render pass.
