ARTFX has officially started construction on its new Digital Arts Campus in Montpellier. Scheduled to open in 2028, the 6,000 m² complex will house professional studios, amphitheaters, and collaborative workspaces. The investment, of 70 million euros with private financing, follows the model of the Lille campus inaugurated in 2023. The project also includes two student residences with shared facilities.
Infrastructure and Spaces Designed for Digital Production 💻
The campus will feature sound studios, motion capture rooms, and high-capacity rendering spaces, sized for professional projects. The architecture prioritizes flexibility and interconnection between training and production areas. The integration of high-performance data networks and collective visualization systems will be fundamental. This technical setup aims to replicate a professional studio environment, facilitating students' transition to the industry.
A Student's Wet Dream: Residences with Laundry and No Mold 🧺
Next to the campus, two student residences will be built. They promise shared facilities that, in the collective imagination of animation students, border on science fiction: working laundries, rest areas without tangled power cords, and perhaps even walls without coffee stains. A revolutionary concept compared to the classic shared apartment where the final render crashes the power at the same time as the fridge. A step toward civilization.
