How Yelp's New Assistant Works 🤖
The Yelp Assistant now takes center stage in the app, enabling fluid conversations to find restaurants, book tables, or hire plumbers. It uses natural language models to understand complex queries and provide contextual responses. Integration with Yelp's reservation system allows completing actions without leaving the chat. The expansion to all categories means it can recommend everything from an auto repair shop to a specialty coffee shop, unifying the experience.

Now Yelp wants to be that friend who always knows where to go, but without the social pressure of making a good impression. The assistant promises to manage reservations and answer questions, though it will surely also receive absurd requests like find a place that serves pizza and has wifi to cry in peace. At least, if it fails, we can always blame the AI and not our bad taste. Just don't let it recommend us the same place twice.
