Rebel Wolves studio and Bandai Namco have confirmed that The Blood of Dawnwalker, their dark fantasy open-world action RPG, will launch on September 3rd for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Set in 14th-century Europe, the game presents a world devastated by the Black Death and conflicts, where vampires take advantage of human weakness to emerge from the shadows. Pre-orders are now available for the Standard and Eclipse editions, the latter including a digital compendium, soundtrack, and digital comic.
A graphics engine that brings plague and darkness to life 🎮
The game uses Unreal Engine 5 to recreate a detailed open world, with day and night cycles that affect enemy and faction behavior. Rebel Wolves has implemented a fluid combat system combining melee attacks, vampiric abilities, and stealth elements. The narrative adapts to player choices, with visible consequences on the map and in relationships with characters. The world is unforgiving: resources are scarce, and every encounter could be your last if not well planned.
Vampires with plague: the perfect excuse to avoid socializing 🧛
Finally, a game that understands that, in the middle of the 14th century, the worst thing isn't being bitten by a vampire, but having to share a dungeon with someone infected with the bubonic plague. The local bloodsuckers have taken advantage of the general quarantine to come out of the closet (or the coffin) without anyone asking for their health certificate. If in real life you fled from your neighbors, here you can do it in style: biting, dodging, and blaming everything on the plague.
