Lawrence Stroll has once again pulled out his checkbook to inject €57.74 million into Aston Martin, preventing another financial collapse. The British firm is accumulating losses due to falling sales in China and U.S. tariffs. Although the hybrid Valhalla reported €312.24 million and shares rose 6.2% in London, that improvement is directly due to Stroll's own capital.
Hybrid Valhalla: the engine stopping the bleeding 🏎️
The launch of the Valhalla, with its twin-turbo V8 hybrid system and all-wheel drive, has generated revenues of €312.24 million. However, this model fails to compensate for structural problems: the company is dragging through a negative quarter marked by the decline of the Chinese market and U.S. tariffs, which make its exports more expensive. Stroll's injection, though necessary, does not resolve the dependence on a single product to sustain the accounts.
Stroll, Aston Martin's personal banker 💸
At this rate, Lawrence Stroll should change his surname to Stroll Bank and open a branch at the Gaydon factory. Because every time the company runs out of financial fuel, he shows up with his checkbook. That said, if he ever gets tired of being the brand's ATM, they might have to sell second-hand Valhallas to pay the bills. Or start a crowdfunding campaign among the fans, which is always more fun.
