Samsung has confirmed that its SmartThings platform now offers full integration with Ikea's Matter-over-Thread devices. After months of reports about connection failures and undetected devices, the update resolves these issues. Sensors, bulbs, and remote controls now work without errors and can be included in advanced home automation routines.
Specific Integrations for Each Ikea Device 🏠
To achieve this compatibility, Samsung developed specific integrations for each model. The remote control with a scroll wheel now responds without delays, smart bulbs and plugs pair instantly, and temperature, humidity, air quality, motion, water, and door or window sensors display accurate data in the app. All of this without the need for additional steps or complex configurations, making it easy to create automations directly from SmartThings.
World (Home) Peace is Finally Possible 😸
Anyone who has tried to sync an Ikea sensor with SmartThings knows it was like asking a cat to wear shoes. Now, Samsung claims everything works. Seeing is believing, but at least we won't have to explain to grandma why the light bulb only turns on when it rains. Of course, if it fails, we can always blame the Thread protocol. Or the cat.
