Apple TV strengthens its commitment to science fiction this summer with the return of Silo for a third season. The series, based on Hugh Howey's trilogy, premieres on July 3rd and will consist of 10 episodes until September 4th. The plot follows the inhabitants of an underground city subjected to strict control as they face a hostile and lethal outside world.

The production has expanded its sets to explore new levels of the bunker and exterior sequences with protective suits. The visual effects team has refined the lighting to convey the feeling of claustrophobia and the deterioration of the metal structures. The cinematography plays with cold and warm tones to differentiate habitable zones from restricted areas, maintaining the industrial aesthetic of the original novel without unnecessary artifice.

While the characters deal with conspiracies and filtered air, one thinks about the advantages of an organized basement: forget about the mortgage, climate change, and noisy neighbors. Of course, dust accumulates in every corner and the canned food diet gets tiring. At least, no one asks you to water the plants.
