AQUAPLUS has shared new details of the turn-based RPG Utawarerumono: Past and Present Rediscovered, introducing five key characters: Amatsuki, smuggler captain; Chicocoa, a young woman from Arva Shulan with ties to Shunya; Shantuura, spiritual leader of the same village; and the warriors Varga and Narakfala. Progress has also been shown in the battle systems and city management.
Battle systems and urban exploration detailed 🎮
Turn-based combat incorporates tactical grid positioning, character-specific special abilities, and a boost meter that accelerates actions. In the city, players will be able to manage resources, build facilities, and recruit allies for missions. Each character has a defined role: Amatsuki focuses on quick attacks, while Shantuura acts as support with control magic. Enemies will have weak points to exploit.
Captain, shaman, and a ship full of trouble âš“
Amatsuki leads a smuggler ship, Chicocoa has mysterious connections, and Shantuura seeks a future for her people. In other words, the perfect team for a plot where no one pays taxes and everyone has secrets. Varga and Narakfala probably argue about who does the dishes between battles. The important thing is that the city manages itself, because we already have enough to do planning turns.
