Netflix has inaugurated a new animation studio in Vancouver, consolidating the city's role as a key node for global production. The facilities, named Netflix Animation Studios, exceed 110,000 square feet and will employ more than 450 artists. It is expected that its activity will contribute more than 50 million Canadian dollars to the region's GDP.

The studio is designed to house full production of animated feature films and complex visual effects. With such an extensive area, a complete pipeline can be managed, from asset development to final post-production. The facility will feature local render farms and specialized workstations, optimizing the workflow for large-scale projects and reducing external dependencies.
Vancouver, Netflix's new backyard 🍁
With this move, Vancouver consolidates itself as a natural extension of Hollywood. Now, when an executive in Los Angeles says we need more effects, the order will travel a few kilometers north, where an army of artists will make it a reality. It's an efficient model: creativity is designed in California and rendered under the Canadian rain. Everything stays in-house, if you consider your house to be a continent.
