Play by Play Studios has confirmed that NBA THE RUN, its 3-on-3 street basketball proposal, will arrive in June on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The first closed beta will take place on May 1 exclusively on PC, and registrations are now open. The game revolves around the Run the World Tournament, a four-round elimination competition on iconic streetball courts around the globe, with a final match for the trophy as the grand finale.
Graphics engine and physics designed for street pace 🏀
The title uses a proprietary engine optimized to deliver fast, fluid matches in detailed urban environments. Player physics prioritize dribbling and lateral movements over rough contact, seeking a balance between spectacle and arcade gameplay. According to the development team, the passing and shooting system has been adjusted to respond in real-time to player decisions, reducing latency in online matches. The Steam beta will allow testing of connection and server stability before the full launch.
Four rounds to remind you that you are not Michael Jordan 😅
The Run the World Tournament promises to take you from a dusty court in Manila to slippery asphalt in Paris, all so that in the fourth round, an opposing team crushes you with impossible dunks while your battery dies. Because yes, nothing says authentic streetball like sweating buckets to win a virtual trophy that, let's be honest, you'll hang on your Steam profile and forget about two days later. At least the defeats will be quick and stylish.
