The Ministry of Transport has begun the rehabilitation works of the A-68 highway pavement as it passes through the La Cartuja Baja neighborhood and several industrial estates in Zaragoza. The intervention aims to improve road safety and driver comfort on a section that shows significant deterioration due to heavy traffic, especially from heavy vehicles.
Milling and new asphalt layer for high-load areas 🚧
The work includes milling the existing pavement and subsequently laying a new asphalt layer, along with renewing horizontal signage and repairing drainage elements. The action will be carried out over several kilometers of the road, affecting access to industrial areas and the urban center of La Cartuja Baja. The durability of the pavement is prioritized given the constant passage of trucks.
Drivers: expect traffic jams with a view to a smooth future 🚗
Of course, as with any self-respecting construction project, drivers can enjoy traffic jams, detours, and the occasional courtesy pothole. But do not despair, for the suffering has its reward: when it's over, you'll be driving on asphalt so smooth you'll even hear the whisper of your tires. In the meantime, it's time to arm yourself with patience and a good podcast.
