Olympic golfer Justin Rose has closed a deal with McLaren Golf to join as a player, investor, and advisor. The collaboration includes the debut of the Series 1 line prototypes at the Doral course, an event coinciding with the Miami Grand Prix of Formula 1. Rose will not only use the clubs but will also put his experience at the service of the brand's technical development.

The prototypes that Rose will debut have been designed with a focus on energy transfer and vibration reduction, seeking predictable performance on every shot. The collaboration includes field testing to adjust weights, balance, and clubface response, with Rose as the primary evaluator.

With this agreement, Rose becomes the first golfer who can boast of having a pit stop on the course. If his ball ever gets a puncture, maybe the McLaren mechanics will change his tires in 2.4 seconds. What we don't know is if the safety car will come out to retrieve the balls that go into the rough.
