YouTuber and executive producer of the upcoming animated Bloodborne film, Seán Jacksepticeye McLoughlin, has urged the community to view this project as a triumph for FromSoftware's RPG. Speaking to Radio Times Gaming during the BAFTA Games Awards, he noted that the game's universe is once again a topic of conversation in 2026, following the disappointment over the closure of Bluepoint Games and the rejection of their remake proposal.
Bluepoint's Technical Failure and FromSoftware's Veto 🎮
Studio Bluepoint Games, responsible for the acclaimed Demon's Souls remake for PS5, was shut down by Sony in 2025. According to internal reports, their team had developed a functional prototype of a Bloodborne remake for PS5 and PC, featuring graphical improvements and 60 fps support. However, FromSoftware rejected the proposal, arguing it preferred to focus its resources on original projects. The studio's closure buried any possibility of an official remaster.
From the Night Hunt to Animated Cinema 🎬
Bloodborne fans have been begging for a PC port or a performance patch for years. Now, instead, they will receive an animated film produced by a YouTuber. It's not exactly what they asked for, but at least they'll get to see a hunter leap from rooftop to rooftop without suffering frame drops. That said, the lore will remain just as cryptic.
