Pearl Abyss has released Crimson Desert update 1.04.00, the largest to date, available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, with a later release on Mac. This version introduces three difficulty modes: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Easy mode reduces incoming damage, enemy health and aggressiveness, and widens windows for dodging and counterattacking. Normal mode offers the usual balanced experience, while Hard mode increases the challenge with new boss combat patterns, higher incoming damage, and reduced windows for parrying and dodging.
Technical improvements: storage, pets, and visual quality 🛠️
Version 1.04.00 also includes new inventory management features with new tabs and additional storage items. Pets that assist the player are added, along with configurable presets for both keyboard and mouse and controller. On the graphical side, Pearl Abyss has implemented improvements in landscape quality and the user interface, aiming for a smoother experience. These adjustments respond to community feedback, although the Mac release has been delayed with no specific date.
Now you can blame the difficulty and not your fingers 😅
Finally, if you die in Hard mode, it won't be because you missed the dodge, but because the boss learned a new pattern just to mess with you. And if you play on Easy, you can brag that you completed the game on expert mode... even though the enemies have the aggressiveness of a lazy cat. The best part is that now you'll have more inventory tabs to accumulate items you'll never use, while your pet looks at you with disdain. The perfect update so no one complains, or at least has fewer reasons to.
