Ubisoft has confirmed what many expected: a complete remake of the fourth installment in the series. Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, developed by Ubisoft Singapore (the creators of Skull and Bones), rebuilds Edward Kenway's adventure from scratch with the latest Anvil engine. Renewed combat, smoother parkour, and improved stealth are the promises of this return to the Caribbean.
Anvil engine and polished mechanics for a renewed classic 🏴☠️
The remake uses the latest version of the Anvil engine, allowing for a faster and smoother combat system. Edward Kenway can now use dual swords, pistols, and the hidden blade with more natural transitions. Parkour has been adjusted to offer reactive and smooth movements, also including the ability to freely crouch for stealth. Tail missions have been redesigned: instant fail screens are removed and replaced with new target reactions, seeking a more coherent experience.
Ubisoft Singapore to the rescue: Skull and Bones finally serves a purpose ⚓
Who would have thought it. After years sailing through the failure of Skull and Bones, the Singapore studio finds a purpose: making a remake of a game that actually worked. Now we'll see if the engine that barely moved an empty ship can do justice to the storms, forts, and sailor songs of Black Flag. At least, we won't have to wait for the target to decide to turn the corner to fail the mission anymore.
