Language Support

To avoid any conflict and unnecessary error messages all older language files will be deleted. After the update CINEMA 4D Release 9.6 will start in English again.

The installation of additional languages has been changed completely in CINEMA 4D Release 9.6. There is no longer a large and complex installation program required. New languages now come in small, individual .lang4d files. You can install different languages directly from within CINEMA 4D. Just follow these steps:

1.	Locate the matching language file for the actual CINEMA 4D version. You'll find them either on the installation CD (in a folder named "Languages") or online on the MAXON download pages.

2.	Run CINEMA 4D (which is still in English).

3.	From the main menu, select Help > Install Language."

4.	In the file requester that appears, select the language file (You can select language files directly from CD or any other place on your hard disc drive).

5.	Click "Open". In CINEMA 4D's status bar at the bottom you'll see the progress of the installation.

6.	Quit CINEMA 4D and restart the application. You can begin working immediately in CINEMA 4D in the newly-installed language.

NOTE:
-----
Make sure you're using language files that match your CINEMA 4D version exactly! Compare your CINEMA 4D version with the language file name. You'll find the CINEMA 4D version number under "Help > Info" in the main menu. The language file version number is part of the file name, e.g.

	FRENCH_9.601_20060410_093933.lang4d

The file name's elements in detail are:

	language_version-number_date_time.lang4d

The French language file in the example above clearly matches CINEMA 4D version 9.601.

By comparing the file name you can also check to see if you're using the latest language version. If you have several files of the same language and version, simply compare the creation date (and time if necessary). The French language file in the example above was created on April 4, 2006 at 9:39 a.m. (and 33 seconds).
